TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1993 DODGE INTREPID. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE KEY REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION, A 12-YEAR OLD CHILD ENTERED THE VEHICLE FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS DOWNHILL AND STRUCK A TREE. THE 12-YEAR OLD STATED THAT HE DID NOT TOUCH THE GEARS, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN REVERSE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DRIVER SIDE TAIL LIGHT, THE PASSENGER WINDOW, AND A DENT IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WERE THE ONLY DAMAGES. THE

FUEL RAIL INJECTION FAILURE RESULTED IN A FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AREA OF VEHICLE. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, AND FUEL RAIL O RINGS WERE REPLACED ON 04/08/1999 RECALL DATE 01/08/1999. DAMAGE TO ALL AREAS OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT RESULTED WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 9 YR. OLD DAUGHTER. *NLM
I WAS INVOLVED IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING A 1993 DODGE INTREPID. SEVERAL VEHICLES AHEAD OF ME STOPPED QUICKLY AND I WAS UNABLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BEFORE HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, A SMALL FORD PICKUP TRUCK. I ESTIMATE I WAS GOING ABOUT 15 TO 20 M.P.H. AT IMPACT. THE IMPACT OF THE CRASH CAUSED A MINIMUM OF $3500 TO $4000 IN DAMAGE TO MY INTREPID AND EXCEEDED ITS CURRENT VALUE. THE FRONT END OF THE INTREPID WAS EXTENSIVELY DAMAGED: THE HOOD WAS SEVERELY CRUMPLED

WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL LETTER CONCERNING RECALL 98V184000 FUEL LEAKAGE FROM FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM WHICH COULD RESULTED IN A FIRE HOWEVER CAUSE HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.
THE QUICK CONNECT/DISCONNECT THAT CONNECTS THE FUEL LINES TO THE FUEL RAIL IS NOT HOLDING AND IS ALLOWING RAW GAS TO LEAK INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, GAS FUMES CAN BE SMELLED INSIDE THE CAR, DEALER SAYS THE ONLY FIX IS TO REPLACE FUEL LINE BETWEEN FUEL FILTER AND FUEL RAIL, I SUSSPECT THAT THE QUICK CONNECT IDEA IS NOT A GOOD CHOICE FOR FUEL SYSTEM COMPONENTS SINCE THE CONNECTOR IS PLASTIC AND GASOLINE WOULD TEND TO DETERIORATE THE PLASTIC OVER TIME AND REPLACING THESE FUEL LINES IS A COSTLY $$
WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH CONSUMER HAD TO SWERVE TO THE SIDE, AND WHILE DOING THIS HAD AN HEAD-ON COLLISION WITH A POLE. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE 3 INJURIES. HAS NOT CONTACTED DEALER. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH HAD A FRONTAL IMPACT, AND DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S AIRBAGS DID DEPLOY, BUT DID NOT INFLATE. DEALER HAS NOT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. NO PRIOR PROBLEM WITH AIRBAG SYSTEM FOUND. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH RIGHT FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT, VEHICLE WENT OVER THE MEDIUM AND UP INTO AND EMBANKMENT, AND UP INTO A WALL. UPON IMPACT, AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. *AK

VEHICLE WAS IN PARK OUTSIDE OF A STORE, AND THE VEHICLE WENT IN REVERSE ABOUT A 100 YARDS, AND HITTING A CURB AND A GUARD RAIL BEFORE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP. ALSO, CAN PULL THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITON FROM PARK/DRIVE AND REVERSE. *AK
