EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY
ALL IN ONE MOBILITY IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 1997 THROUGH 2008 CONVERSION VANS EQUIPPED WITH VMI/RICON 6-WAY POWER SEAT BASES. THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF A DEFECTIVE WELD AT THE JOINT BETWEEN THE PIVOTING PLATE AND THE PIVOTING PLATE PIN.
WHILE DRIVING ON A WET ROAD THE SERPENTINE BELT FLEW OFF THE PULLEYS. THIS MADE THE POWER STEERING PUMP, ALTERNATOR, WATER PUMP AND THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM TO ALL BECOME UNABLE TO WORK IN AN IMMEDIATE FASHION. THIS PROBLEM APPEARS TO HAPPEN OFTEN; MEANING SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR TO MANY CARAVAN OWNERS. MY MECHANIC SAID HIS BEST ADVICE WAS TO NOT DRIVE IN WET OR SNOWY CONDITIONS. THIS IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD MAKE RIGHT BY INSTALLING A BELT GUARD TO HOLD THE BELT IN PLACE.
