Within that volume, owners reported 67 crashes, 14 fires, 40 injuries, and 2 fatalities. Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2014 CHARGER is electrical system with 105 filings, followed by steering (62) and engine (61). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 10 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.

NHTSA currently has 1 investigation file overlapping the 2014 CHARGER. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. My ABS, BRAKE & ESC lights all came on at the same time on my dash. Took my car to a reputable mechanic and they told me that my abs module needed to be replaced but they were no longer available. So now I have to drive my car and worry about my brakes locking up if I have to come to a sudden stop for some reason since the anti-lock brakes are not working.
