ON CERTAIN MINI VANS, CONDENSATION FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AIR CONDITIONING DUCTS MAY DROP THROUGH VENT HOLES IN THE TOP OF THE RADIO AND RESULT IN A SHORT CIRCUIT THAT SUBSEQUENTLY SENDS DIRECT CURRENT TO THE REAR SPEAKERS.

MY WIFE WAS KILLED WHEN THE GEAR SHIFT ENGAGED WHILE SHE WAS PUTTING GROCERIES IN THE BACK OF HER VAN IN THE STORES PARKING LOT. THERE WERE NO WITNESSES. FLORIDA STATE HIGH PATROL AT THE SCENE PIECED TOGETHER THE LIKELY EVENTS. WHEN THE CAR STARTED ROLLING BACKWARD, SHE MAY HAVE REACHED IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR TO STOP IT. I AM CERTAIN THAT IF I HADN'T POWERED DOWN THE COMPRESSOR IT WOULD HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THERE IS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN ON THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM.
