TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1991 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED THE CONTACT NOTICED THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THE ABS FUNCTION WAS CONSTANTLY ON WHICH MADE THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. THE DEALER STATED THE VEHICLE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 96V099000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK) AND WOULD HAVE TO BE DIAGNOSED FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED PRIOR TO THE RECALL REPAIRS SHE HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.

THE DEALER HAD AN ENGINEER INSPECT THE VEHICLE AND TAKE PICTURES. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 99,000.

WHILE AT THE DEALER ON FEBRUARY 15, 2008, THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS FAILURE WITH THE WIRING AND THE VEHICLE NEEDED A CYLINDER MODULE AND ELECTRICAL WORK. THE REPAIR WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $200. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT NOTHING FURTHER COULD BE DONE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 118,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER THIS RECALL. HOWEVER, THE BRAKES FAILED TWICE WITHIN A WEEK. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AGAIN, AND THE CONTACT WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. *AK

CONSUMER HAD THE REPAIRS DONE, AND EXPERIENCED BRAKE FAILURE FOUR TIMES SINCE THE PUMP WAS REPLACED. ON EACH OCCASION THE PUMP WAS REPLACED WITH A DEFECTIVE PUMP. *AK
