TWO MINUTES AFTER EXITING THE PA TURNPIKE DRIVING THROUGH MY NEIGHBORHOOD. HAD TO STOP AT THE SIGN ON MY CORNER. APPLIED BRAKES BUT LINE BURST AND PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR. CAR WOULD NOT STOP BUT FORTUNATELY WAS ABLE TO NAVIGATE THE TURN AND COAST TO MY HOME WHILE DOWNSHIFTING (AUTOMATIC) AND APPLYING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. NARROWLY AVOIDED HITTING A CAR AT THE INTERSECTION. THEN INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE BRAKE LINE WAS CORRODED, CAUSING BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS YET TO BE REPAIRED. CONTACTED GMC CITING: HTTP://WWW.10NEWS.COM/MONEY/CONSUMER/MORE-GM-OWNERS-REPORT-BRAKE-LINE-RUST08092013 AND LOOKING FOR THE ?GM SPOKESMAN ALAN ADLER NOW SAYS US A REPAIR KIT IS FINALLY AVAILABLE THROUGH DEALERS, THAT LOWERS REPLACEMENT COST FOR CUSTOMERS FROM ALMOST $2,000 TO JUST $500.? OPENED SERVICE REQUEST WITH GMC ON 11/1/13 NOW GMC INDICATES THAT THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE AND REFERRED ME TO MY LOCAL DEALER. LOCAL DEALER (O?NEIL GMC) INDICATED THAT ALL L

2000 GMC YUKON XL HAD GAS POURING OUT FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE.*MR AFTER THE CONSUMER FILLED UP HIS GAS TANK FUEL BEGAN TO LEAK ONTO THE GROUND AT THE GAS STATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR FACILITY WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL TANK WIRING HAD BURNED INSIDE THE FUEL TANK. THIS IS THE VEHICLE'S SECOND FUEL PUMP FAILURE. IN MAY 2005 THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE MANUFACTURER CONCERNING THE FUEL PUMP WIRING FAILURE. THE LETTER EXPLAINED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS WORKING WITH THE SUPPLIER TO DEVELOP AND OBTAIN A SERVICE KIT TO PERMANENTLY CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *NM
