WE HAVE HAD SIMILAR INCINDENTS WHEN GETTING IN AND OUT OF OUR VAN AND GOING TO THE REAR ROW OF SEATS.
HAD INTERMITANT AIRBAG LIGHT, REPAIRED BY DEALER UNDER WARRANTY. DEALER FIXED DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR. THEN HAD 40 MPH FRONT END CRASH, FRONT AND SIDE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. SDM HAS HISTORY OF FAILURE ON THIS VAN. CONTACTED GM, THEY STATED 'NO ISSUE - CASE CLOSED'. NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I AM AN AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEER, ALL CONDITIONS SHOULD HAVE BEEN MET IN THIS CRASH FOR AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.
