WHILE IN MOTION SEAT BELT WOULD COME UNDONE OR WOULDN'T UNLOCK FROM LOCK IN ORDER TO USE. BRAKES WOULD SLIP. MY BOYFRIEND WAS KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE SEAT BELT MALFUNCTIONED WHICH THEN CAUSED THE AIRBAGS TO MALFUNCTION AND THE BRAKES STUCK SO HE WASN'T ABLE TO SLOW DOWN SUFFICIENTLY.

WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY SLIPS OR JERKS TO THE RIGHT. THIS PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT, BUT HAS INCREASED OVER TIME. ON JANUARY 28, 2003 THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR THIS PROBLEM, AND THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE STEERING SENSOR. THE PROBLEM HAS RECURRED 22 MONTHS LATER, CAUSING DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AT 35 MPH. THIS RESULTED IN LOSE OF CONTROL OF THIS VEHICLE AND ACCIDENT FOLLOWED. CONSUMER CALLED AND STATED THAT SHE WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION AND NONE OF HER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND ALSO STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSANGER SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK WHICH CAUSE THE PASSANGER TO BANG HER HEAD ON THE WINDSHIELD WHICH ALSO CAUSED HER PHISICAL DAMAGE AND CRACKED THE WINDSHIELD. ON OR ABOUT 7/6/02, MY WIFE WAS LOADING OUR THREE CHILDREN INTO THE TAHOE (WHICH WAS PARKED AND RUNNING WITH THE AC ON DUE TO THE HEAT). AFTER PUTTING THE THREE YEAR OLD AND THE FOUR YEAR OLD IN THE CAR, BUT BEFORE SECURING THEM IN THE CAR SEATS, THE 3 YEAR OLD WENT TO THE DRIVERS SEAT. HE THEN SHIFTED THE CAR FROM PARK TO DRIVE WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE (HE IS 2 FEET TALL AND CAN NOT REACH THEM). THE CAR MOVED FORWARD STRIKING A RETAINING WALL, CAUSING MINOR COSMETIC DAMAGE. FORTUNATLY,
VEHICLE WAS GOING 50MPH AROUND A WIDE RIGHT HAND CURVE WHEN VEHICLE SUDDENLY STARTED WOBBLING/ SPINNING/ WENT OVER EMBANKMENT, AND ROLLED BACKWARD INTO A BARN. CONSUMER SUFFERED NO INJURIES. ALSO, CONSUMER DID EVERYTHING TO CONTROL VEHICLE BEFORE LOSING ABSOLUTE CONTROL. WHEN CONSUMER CONTACTED DEALER, THEY HAD NOT HEARD OF ANY INCIDENT DURING THAT TIME. DEALER ASSUMED CONSUMER LOST CONTROL AND RAN UP ON GRASS. CONSUMER HAS HAD SEVERAL DIFFERENT INCIDENTS THAT RELATES TO THE SAME PROB
STEERING BECOMES OVER SENSITIVE CAUSING VEHICLE TO OVER STEER. VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS ARE AS FOLLOWS. 1997-1999 CHEVROLET TAHOE, 1997-1999 GMC YUKON, 1997-1999 CHEVROLET 1500 TRUCKS, 1997-1999 GMC TRUCKS. ANY GM VEHICLE WITH AT V8 GASOLINE POWERED ENGINE WILL HAVE THIS FAILURE. THERE ARE 1000S OF COMPLAINTS IN YOUR DATABASE AND THIS ADDS TO THEM ONLY NOW YOU ARE AWARE THAT ADDITIONAL MODELS ARE AFFECTED AS WELL. I HAVE BEEN INVOLVED / RESPONSIBLE FOR 2 REAR END COLLISIONS THAT HAVE OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF MY ABS SYSTEM NOT STOPPING MY VEHICLE.
