WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED OUTSIDE THE CONTACT'S PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT, SOMEONE REPORTED THAT THEY HEARD A LOUD NOISE AS IF GLASS SHATTERED FROM THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WENT OUTSIDE AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR WINDOW GLASS WAS SHATTERED. AFTER VIEWING THE SECURITY CAMERAS, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE WINDOW EXPLODED ON ITS OWN AND WITHOUT IMPACT. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

"TAKATA RECALL" ONCE AGAIN I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO SCHEDULE SERVICE TO HAVE THE AIRBAG INFLATORS REPAIRED OR REPLACED AS INSTRUCTED BY THE RECALL NOTICE. I HAVE NOW BEEN TOLD THAT CHEVROLET HAS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL AND ARE CURRENTLY WAITING FOR ANALYSIS BY THE NHTSA OF CHEVROLETS INDEPENDENT TESTING WHICH INDICATES THE RECALL IS NOT NECESSARY. CHEVROLET STATES THE VEHICLE IS SAFE TO OPERATE. I GUESS THE PROOF WILL BE SEEN IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS IN AN ACCIDENT.
