SINCE NEW BRAKES WORK INCONSISTENTLY. TAKEN TO 2 DEALERS AND INDEPENDENT GARAGE SEVERAL TIMES. THE ONLY ANSWER THEY FOUND WAS TO ADJUST REAR SHOES. HOWEVER THIS DOES NOT FIX PROBLEM. SOMETIMES YOU STEP ON THE BRAKES AND THE CAR JUST WON'T SLOW DOWN. USUALLY RIGHT BEFORE YOU RUN INTO SOMETHING THE BRAKES SEEM TO GRAB. WHENEVER I HAVE A FRIEND DRIVE MY CAR THEY COMMENT ON HOW SCARY THE BRAKES ARE. THIS CAR HAS A LOT OF BASIC FLAWS I CAN LIVE WITH BUT I WOULD LIKE BRAKES. THANK YOU.
WHEN APPYLING THE ABS BRAKES PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOOR, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE WHICH RESULTED IN A COLLISION. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, WAS HIT FROM THE SIDE AND KNOCKED INTO A TELEPHONE POLE. UPON IMPACT, DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. *AK
ON APRIL 10, 1999 I WAS DRIVING ON SUNRISE HIGHWAY WHEN I SUDDENLY LOST CONTROL OF MY STEERING. TRYING TO CENTER MY CAR IN THE LEFT LANE WHERE I WAS DRIVING, THE CAR WOULD SWING TO THE LEFT AT A SUBTLE TILT OF THE STEERING WHEEL IN THAT DIRECTION; AND WOULD LIKEWISE, SWING TO THE RIGHT WITH A TILT OF THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT. BREAKING DID NOT SEEM TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN AT THIS POINT. I CONTINUED TO SUCCESSIVELY ATTEMPT TO CONTROL THE CAR, SWINGING TO THE RIGHT AND TO THE LEFT UNTIL I RO
AN EYE WITTNESS SAID THAT THE VEHICLE LOOKED LIKE THE DRIVER HAD NO CONTROL OF STEERING. VEHICLE HIT A 24" UTILITY POLE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. DRIVER WAS KILLED AND PASSENGER CRITICALLY INJURED. CONSUMER PURCHASED VEHICLE SECOND HAND, AND NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE OR NOTIFIED OF ANY OUTSTANDING RECALLS. *AK
THROTTLE WOULD STICK WHEN FLOORED.IT WOULDN'T RETURN WHEN I LET OFF THE THROTTLE. IT DID THIS 4 OR 5 TIMES IN THE 1ST 2 YEARS I OWNED THE CARE. IT CAUSE ME TO GO INTO A GUARDRAIL, BUT MY ABS DID SLOW ME DOWN SO I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 25 MPH WHEN I HIT. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE THROTTLE LINKAGE AND MY MECHANIC WILL BACK ME UP ABOUT THE LINKAGE. *AK

DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH CONSUMER HAD TO MAKE A SUDDEN STOP, BUT BRAKES DID NOT WORK, RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT. BRAKE SPECIALIST STATED THAT BRAKE VACUUM HOSE WAS DEFECTIVE, BUT DOES NOT KNOW IF IT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. *AK
VEHICLE WAS ASSEMBLED WITHOUT A BRAKE SPRING KIT. CAR WAS INVOLVED IN TWO MINOR ACCIDENTS WHICH COULD HAVE OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF FAULTY BRAKES. MANUFACTURER IS UNAWARE OF THE INCIDENT, AND REPAIRS WERE MADE AT OWNER'S EXPENSE. *AK
