The 1995CHEVROLETG SERIES carries 18 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 3 crashes, 0 fires, 2 injuries, and 0 fatalities. No NCAP 5-star crash-test rating is available for this model year in the federal database.

Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 1995 G SERIES is seats with 2 filings, followed by seat belts:front:anchorage (2) and service brakes, hydraulic:antilock/traction control/electronic limited slip (2). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability.

NHTSA currently has 57 investigation files overlapping the 1995 G SERIES, and 2 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. 20000918SEAT BELTS:FRONT:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY

I ONLY USED THE SOFA REAR SEAT OCCASIONALLY. HAD A CHILD USING IT LAST FRIDAY AND HAD TO MAKE A SUDDEN STOP. THE SEAT BELT CAME APART AND I FOUND THAT IT HAD BEEN PIECED TOGETHER WITH STAPLES. THE CONVERSION COMPANY REFUSES TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY. AFTER THEY FOUND OUT I ONLY HAD 14,000 MILES ON THE VAN, THAT AGREED TO SUPPLY THE PART, BUT THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR THE LABOR. I HAVE HAD THE VAN FOR 4 YEARS, BUT PREVIOUSLY ONLY USED IT TO TRANSPORT A HANDICAPPED CHILD IN THE FRONT OR MIDDLE AREAS. I WAS VERY LUCKY THAT THE CHILD IN THE FAULTY SEAT BELT WAS NOT INJURED. I FEEL THAT THE CONVERSION COMPANY WHO INSTALLED THE BELT WAS NEGLIGENT AND IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR INJURY.
