STARTED VEHICLE AND DASH DISPLAYS WARNINGS: ENGINE OPERATING AT REDUCED POWER AND ENGINE OVERHEATED A/C TURNED OFF. SCANNED THE ECM FOR CODES AND WAS ABLE TO CLEAR THESE TWO MALFUNCTION INDICATORS. THE TOOL ALSO REVEALED A PREMIANT CODE OF "P1682 (1/1), IGNITION 1 SWITCH CIRCUIT 2". MODULE # : $7E8 AND MODULE# $7EA. THIS CODE WILL NOT CLEAR UNTIL A REPAIR IS MADE. RESEARCH REVEALS THAT THIS IGNITION PROBLEM IS PREVALENT AMONG MANY MAKES AND MODELS OF CHEVROLET AND GM VEHICLES BETWEEN THE YEARS FROM 2014 TO 2018. AND COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STALL WHILE BEING DRIVEN. RESEARCH ALSO SHOWS THAT THIS PROBLEM GENERALLY OCCURS WHEN THE WEATHER IS WARMER. NOT WHEN IT IS AS COLD AS IT WAS WHEN MY MALFUNCTION OCCURRED. ODDLY, IN SPITE OF THE PREVALENCE OF THIS PROBLEM AMONG CHEVY AND GM VEHICLE FOR THOS
