VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VANS EQUIPPED WITH A BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR. SOME OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE A POWER STEERING COOLER HOSE THAT CAN SEPARATE FROM THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER FLUID FLOW SWITCH ASSEMBLY.

MY WIFE WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVER SEAT OF THE VAN. THE VAN WAS PARKED. HER LEG MADE CONTACT WITH THE POWER SEAT CONTROL MOVING THE SEAT FORWARD AND TRAPPING HER IN THE VEHICLE WITH HER KNEE STUCK UNDER THE DASHBOARD. THE SEAT WOULD NOT RETURN TO IT'S ORIGINAL POSITION AND THERE IS NO RELEASE MECHANISM OTHER THAN THE POWER CONTROL KNOB. THE SEAT WAS INSTALLED BY MARK III CONVERSION VANS AND SOLD AS NEW BY THE D & C CHEVROLET GM DEALER. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH BALL JOINTS BROKE FROM VEHICLE WITH NO PRIOR WARNING. CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE, LEFT FRONT SIDE WAS DAMAGED, CONTACTED DEALER AND DEALER TOLD CONSUMER IT WAS A DEFECTIVE PART. GMC WOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES.*AK CONSUMER ALSO STATES AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, THE UPPER CONTROL ARM BALL JOINT IS WHAT FAILED, WHEN CONSUMERS VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT, THE ABS SENSOR AND THE OUTSIDE MIRROR WERE REPLACED.*JB
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 30 MPH APPLIED BRAKES, PEDAL FELT SPONGY AND WENT TO THE FLOOR. NO BRAKING ACTION, HIT VEHICLE IN FRONT. $ 1200.00 DAMAGE. DEALER SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH BRAKES. CONSUMER THEN WENT TO ANOTHER DEALER, WAS TOLD REAR BRAKES WERE NOT FUNCTIONAL. CHEVROLET TOOK NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACCIDENT.*AK
