Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability.
NHTSA currently has 57 investigation files overlapping the 2005 CORVETTE Z06, and 2 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. MY QUESTION IS; I OWN A 2005 CORVETTE C6 AND HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY STEERING COLUMN WHICH IS THE TILT AND TELESCOPING. SUCH AS NOT BEING ABLE TO START IT. I AM LUCKY THAT MY BRAKES HAVEN'T LOCKED UP ON ME YET. DURING MY RESEARCH I FOUND THAT YOU HAD BEGAN A SAFETY RECALL ON APRIL 30, 2010, NHTSA 10V172000, REGARDING THE TILT AND TELESCOPING STEERING WHEEL ON MY YEAR AND MODEL OF VEHICLE. I CONTACTED MY CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP YESTERDAY ABOUT THIS AND SCHEDULING TO HAVE THEM PUT IN THE BYPASS TO COLUMN LOCK. I MENTIONED THE SAFETY RECALL AND HE TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS ONLY ONE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE, LIGHTS. WHY ISN'T MY CAR APPROVED FOR THE SAFETY RECALL OF 2010, WHEN SHE MEETS ALL OF THE CRITERIA?
