Within that volume, owners reported 0 crashes, 0 fires, 1 injury, and 0 fatalities. For crash performance, NHTSA's New Car Assessment Program gave this cohort an overall 4/5 rating, with 4/5 front crash, 5/5 side crash, and 3/5 rollover scores derived from standardized barrier and dynamic tests.
Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2025 COLORADO is service brakes with 7 filings, followed by electrical system (4) and engine (3). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 1 active recall campaign, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 57 investigation files overlapping the 2025 COLORADO, and 2 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

Any time the heated seats and or steering wheel heat are on the lights pulsate inside and outside the vehicle. I have complained to the dealership and Chevy. Neither one has any answers for this. Chevy admitted via email finally that it was an issue but they did not have a fix at this time and the vehicle was safe. I find this to be a safety issue due to the lights pulsating and that apparently it is pulling too much power somewhere. To me this could cause a fire. For the money I paid for a brand new vehicle you'd think they would be willing to figure this out quickly. I know of others who have this issue as well with the same response from Chevy. They apparently do not care about the safety of the people who purchase their vehicles.
When using heated seats and heated steering wheel the headlights randomly pulsate and dim - dangerously impacting driver night-time vision / visibility and confusing / disorienting other drivers. Ongoing issue. Happens EVERY time headlights are utilized in conjunction with heated seats and heated steering wheel. Occurs at idle and at speed. Chevrolet refuses to acknowledge, address, or remedy the issue. Has not been remedied to date. Videos available.

When I try to accelerate some times my truck doesnât go. Itâs like itâs not even in drive. The check engine light is on and the dealership that I bought it from told me just to drive it because they donât have a loaner vehicle at this time. That it wonât hurt the vehicle to drive but itâs unsafe to drive. I step on the gas and it doesnât go. I could be hit if Iâm trying to move when in traffic. Also my truck only had 5200 miles on it when this started and Iâve only had it since 16 July 2025.
The headlights flicker/pulse creating visibility issues at night. This occurs when the heated seats are activated. This is a safety concern for myself, passengers, other drivers, and pedestrians. Flickering lights can cause an accident due to poor visibility and the creating of false shadows. This would also hinder the ability to see pedestrians. The problem was reproduced at the local Chevrolet dealer, they said they would contact Chevrolet, at my insisting. Initially they told me I should replace the stock halogen light bulbs with aftermarket LED bulbs at my cost. They said it is extremely unlikely that GM will do anything to rectify the issue because from the design standpoint of the vehicle everything is operating within its standards on paper. The manufacturer has initiated a case. There are no warning lights of any kind. This is a 2025 with 2,300 miles.

After the vehicle was parked and powered off for several hours, I started the truck and experienced an extreme and unexpected audio volume spike from the factory BOSE sound system. The startup sound and turn-signal chime played at an excessively loud level, far beyond normal operation. The sound was sudden and intense, causing immediate ear pain, ringing, and a headache. My dog, who was in the vehicle, became visibly distressed and shaken by the noise. This volume spike occurred before any media audio was playing and appears tied to the vehicle's startup and chime audio system, not user-adjustable radio volume. The turn-signal clicking remained extremely loud afterward, indicating the same audio channel was affected. The vehicle has been operating normally prior to this incident and had not been modified in any way. This occurred during normal use of a brand-new vehicle (purchased about a month ago) with no warning lamps/messages/ or other symptoms prior to the incident. The p
I was driving down a hill and hit my brakes and the pushed back against me and then went right to the floor with minimal braking. I got an error message on my dash that said âbrake system failure- do not exceed 62 mphâ Luckily it was early in the morning and nobody was in front of me. All of the lights were green and between the engine braking and the little brake power that I had I made it up the hill (about a mile) to the Chevy dealership. I got an error notification the day prior that said there was an electrical error and my check engine light came in. I drove straight to the dealership but they couldnât do anything since it was 4:30 and later than work hours so they made me an appointment for the next day and let me go. They told me later that day that it was an issue with the master cylinder (which with some research I found that there is an active lawsuit against this issue) I was issued a loaner vehicle with a crack straight across the entire windshield (it was all t

My 2025 Chevrolet Colorado continues to experience roof denting caused by the vehicleâs structural weakness in the roof panel when exposed to normal car-wash air dryers. This problem began in 2023 with my previous model year Colorado, and it has carried into the 2025 model despite GM having issued an internal service advisory in 2023 describing the need to install additional roof braces to prevent this exact failure. GM acknowledged the issue two years ago but did not incorporate the recommended reinforcement into manufacturing. As a result, even routine exposure to the forced air from automated car-wash dryers causes the roof to bend inward. I have had this inspected multiple times, and the root cause has been consistently identified as inadequate roof support. The problem has not been corrected at the design or production level, and dealerships are not taking further action. The roof denting raises concerns about structural rigidity, potential weakening over time, and whether the
On the day of purchase, while driving on a freeway, the vehicle would not accelerate. The RPM's went up, the engine revved, but the vehicle acted as if it was in neutral. These vehicles will not accelerate if they think the brake pedal is also being pressed. The brake was not being depressed. As I was pulling the vehicle to the side of the road, suddenly it allowed me to accelerate again, and I continued with no further issues. One week later, with fewer than 200 miles on the vehicle, upon starting the dashboard showed alerts to Service ESC, Service Brake Assist, Service Trailer Brake System. The ABS and Traction Control lights also came on. These are all systems designed to prevent loss of control, and all failed without warning. A dealer service center diagnosed this as a known problem with a faulty master cylinder, on several models built over a period of several months.

Many warning lights are on for traction control, abs , brakes service ESC, trailer braking and the adaptive cruise control system is not working, it was reported to the dealer, they checked it said bad battery, they coded it out said it is fine now on 9/5/25. Itâs back at the dealer with all the same warnings on again

Cruise Control I was nearly in a severe accident because of the way Chevrolet Cruise control works when I was on the highway and traffic slowed down briefly and my vehicle continued to run at the set miles and didn't slow down when I was approaching the vehicle in front of me. When I purchased the vehicle (2025 Chev Colorado) I was not informed that 'Gap' detection does not work as it does in most other modern vehicles. This feature is only available in higher end vehicles in what they call Adapter Cruise Control. [XXX] I purchased a 2025 Chevrolet Colorado zr2 Midnight Edition from Preston Hood Chevrolet in Crestview, Florida. I had been waiting to see this truck for a couple days as it was listed on their website. They said it was in service but when I asked why they did not tell me. When I went to the dealership to buy it I asked again why it had been in service and the salesman said he did not know but he said this truck has a lot of accessories they had to put on it. I drove the truck home, and then to work the next day and in my way home the brake system completely failed. I kept pushing fully on the brakes and it kept going and took quite some time to stop. I noticed multiple brake warnings and was stranded on a very busy street with cars flying by. This was not a safe area. When I called the dealership I asked point blank if the brakes was the reason I was unable to see the truck for the days I was waiting to purchase it and he said yes. The car was towed to a close by chevy dealership.
This truck was purchased May 2025 and currently has 2600 miles. Without any warning the brake light and ABS warning lights came on along with messages reading Brake Assist,ESC, and Trailer Brake require service. I took my truck in to a Chevrolet dealer on Aug 18, 2025 for inspection of issue. I was informed the Master Cylinder has failed and because this was a âSAFETYâ issue I could not take drive my truck and they would not allow me to remove the vehicle from their lot. I understand there has been many people with this same issue. Why has a recall not been issued? Why is Chevrolet still selling these trucks? This needs to be addressed ASAP to save lives.
Started the vehicle and 4 dash lights were on. The ABS light, the forward collision system light, the BRAKE light, and the traction control light. The vehicle was taken to a dealership and we have been notified by the dealer that it is a Master Brake Cylinder failure. The part is on national backorder with no ETA. Luckily, it did not fail while driving, but could've been tragic. This vehicle is brand new and belongs to my 16 year old. This is a known issue on the Colorado, Traverse, and possibly other models. However, I have yet to find a recall or TSB. Brake cylinders are FAILING in brand new vehicles and GM needs to address it.
