THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS REMAINED ON. WHILE RESEARCHING THE ISSUE IT APPEARS THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE IN THIS TRUCK. DUE TO THE SAFETY CONCERNS AND THE QUANTITY OF PROBLEMS, CHEVROLET SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO REPAIR THE ITEM. THEY ARE AWARE OF IT SINCE THEY SENT OUT A SERVICE BULLETIN. *TR *JS

2006 8.1 LITER 2500 AVALANCHE CUT OUT GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. WE WERE STRANDED FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES DURING WHICH TIME WE CALLED ONSTAR FOR HELP. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND ALSO RESET THE ENGINE HOUR METER TO ZERO. WE BROUGHT IT INTO OUR DEALER TOM BANNON CHEVROLET AND THEY COULD FIND NO PROBLEM. I READ WHERE THIS IS A PROBLEM AND YOU ARE RESEARCHING IT. ADD US TO YOUR LIST OF PEOPLE IT HAPPENED TO. THE REPORTING DATE IS APPROXIMATE. I WOULD HAVE TO VERIFY WITH HOTEL RECORDS. *JB
