Within that volume, owners reported 1 crash, 1 fire, 5 injuries, and 0 fatalities. For crash performance, NHTSA's New Car Assessment Program gave this cohort an overall 5/5 rating, with 4/5 front crash, 5/5 side crash, and 4/5 rollover scores derived from standardized barrier and dynamic tests.
Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2015 REGAL is engine with 9 filings, followed by exterior lighting (8) and unknown or other (5). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability.
NHTSA currently has 1 investigation file overlapping the 2015 REGAL. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

The contact owns a 2015 Buick Regal. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, upon reaching a stop light, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power and was able to restart. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, who determined that the engine was experiencing a vacuum leak. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 102,000.

Excessive oil consumption on the 2.4L engine. GM has known about the oil consumption on these engines for a long time and if oil is not consistently checked and topped off it will seize the motor while driving
After starting my vehicle with foot on the brake and putting the vehicle in gear it will move forward and occasionally roll for 4 or 5 feet before the brake engages. This is extremely dangerous as I'm pulling out of a parking space and merging with ongoing traffic !This has been going on for approximately three weeks. The vehicle literally has no brakes for four or five feet despite the fact that my foot being pressed all the way down on the brake pedal!! Last week I came very close to a major accident when I couldn't stop for an on oncoming car. Thank goodness the operator of the other vehicle stopped in time to avoid a serious accident! I immediately took the car to a local garage to have my brakes checked. They found no issues. I then took it to the Buick dealer,BICAL, and they found a serious issue. The brake vacuum pump had frozen and had actually disintegrated and no longer was functional. Parts from the pump entered the valve shaft area also. The end result was a $3,000 rep

I purchased my 2015 buick in May of 2015. At about December of 2017 the drivers HID head light was breached and moisture crept in creating an inner fog and eventually a puddle of water. In the falloff 2018 the same thing happened on the passengers side. I've removed both head assemblies and tried to fix the problem with very little success. Now I am looking at replacing both lamp assemblies at a cost of $2200 not counting labor.
Drivers side headlight has condensation in it & stopped working. Vehicle hasnât been involved in any accidents or incidents that would have caused this. Dealer advised of the problem while performing oil change.
I STARTED EXPERIENCING EXCESSIVE OIL BURN AT AROUND. SINCE THEN, I HAVE CHECKED MY OIL BIWEEKLY TO TOP OFF AND KEEP AT PROPER LEVELS ALONG WITH CONSISTENT OIL CHANGES AS THE OIL GETS DIRTY QUICKLY. DEALERSHIPS BEFORE HAVE TOLD ME THAT ITS "NORMAL" FOR THESE ENGINES. I DISCOVERED A BAD OIL LEAK. VACUUM PUMP ISSUES. MULTIPLE CAMSHAFT SEALS WORN AWAY, THAT WERE HARD AS ROCK FROM EXCESSIVE HEAT INCLUDING PISTON SEALS THAT HAD BEEN AFFECTED. THOUGHT THIS POSSIBLY HAD FIXED THE EXCESSIVE OIL BURN. A FEW WEEKS LATER I RECEIVED THE OIL LEVEL LOW NOTIFICATION ON THE CAR COMPUTER. I CHECK AND ITS VERY LOW. THE OIL BURN IS CONTINUING WITH NO CLEAR SIGNS OF AN OIL LEAK WITH DIRTY OIL. THERE IS POSSIBLY MORE PROBLEMS WITHIN THE ENGINE THAT AREN'T SEEN. I HAVE CHECKED PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS. I NOTICE THAT THIS ENGINE HAS MANY OF THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE TURBO PACKAGE ON GM VEHICLES. IT HAS A ROUGH IDLE AND ENGINE HESITATION. THESE CHARACTERISTICS SEEM TO INCLUDE INCONSISTENT ENGINE PERFORMANCE SOU

ENGINE HAS GONE OUT TWICE WITHIN 54K MILES. SERVICE TECH SAID THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE WITH THE 2015 BUICK REGAL ENGINE. I JUST HAD IT REPLACED THE 2ND TIME IN FEB OF 2020. FIRST TIME IT WENT OUT THERE WAS ONLY 12K MILES ON IT. NOW ITS NOV. OF 2020 AND THE CAR IS HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUES AS IT WAS WHEN BOTH ENGINES WENT OUT. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING A THIRD TIME. THIS IS NOT FAIR AS A CONSUMER TO PURCHASE A NEW CAR WITH BARELY ANY MILEAGE AND THE ENGINE KEEPS GOING ON. I WAS ON THE FREEWAY THE LAST TIME. WORST POSSIBLE TIMING EVER. THIS IS LIKE A NEVER ENDING REALLY EXPENSIVE ISSUE

WHILE EXITING AN INTERSTATE ON A SHARP CURVE FAILED TO RESPOND. NO WARNING LIGHTS APPEARED. WHEN APPLYING BRAKE STEERING BEGAN TO RESPOND. CONTACTED DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT CHARLIE OBAUGH STAUNTON VIRGINIA. VEHICLE IS NOT ON RECALL LIST. PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE SIMILAR TO 2016 STEERING RECALL. DEALERSHIP DID NOT OFFER REMEDY FOR PROBLEM. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE LOSING STEERING WHILE IN MOTION. WHAT OPTIONS DO WE HAVE

I STARTED EXPERIENCING EXCESSIVE OIL BURN AT AROUND 85,000 MILES. AT 109,610 MILES, I DISCOVERED A BAD OIL LEAK. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO DIAGNOSE AND FIX THE PROBLEM. HE DETERMINED THAT THE VACUUM PUMP HAD BROKEN OFF INTO THE ENGINE WHICH CAUSED A SEAL PROBLEM FOR THE TOP OF THE ENGINE. AS HE OPENED UP THE TOP OF THE ENGINE TO REMOVE THE BROKEN PIECES, HE NOTICED MULTIPLE CAMSHAFT SEALS THAT HAD WORN AWAY, THAT WERE HARD AS ROCK FROM EXCESSIVE HEAT INCLUDING PISTON SEALS THAT HAD BEEN AFFECTED, HE REPAIRED THEM ALL AFTER ORDERING THE REPLACEMENT PARTS FROM BUICK. THINKING THIS POSSIBLY HAD FIXED THE EXCESSIVE OIL BURN, I STOPPED CHECKING THE OIL LEVELS. A MONTH AND 1,000 MILES LATER, I RECEIVED THE OIL LEVEL LOW NOTIFICATION ON THE CAR COMPUTER. I

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 BUICK REGAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT WAS FILLED WITH MOISTURE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT MOISTURE IN THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING MAY CAUSE THE HEADLIGHT TO BECOME INOPERABLE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT AND POSSIBLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS CONFIRMED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. KARP BUICK (400 SUNRISE HWY, ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY 11570, 515-665-1739) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE BUT PROVIDED NO REPAIR ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,500.

FAULTY BRAKE VACUUM PUMP. LEAKING OIL AND VEHICLES BRAKE PEDAL WAS STIFF AND LUCKILY DID NOT LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT AS I HAD TO USE ALL MY WEIGHT TO PUSH THE PEDAL DOWN TO STOP THE CAR. I TOOK THE CAR TO A BUICK DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE VACUUM PUMP DISINTEGRATED WHILE DISASSEMBLING TO PUT NEW VACUUM PUMP IN. THIS LEAD TO PARTS OF THE VACUUM PUMP ENTERING THE ENGINE. THERE IS NOW METAL IN THE OIL AND ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING RIGHT WITH REDUCED POWER. DEALERSHIP SAID IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT THAT GM MADE A VACUUM PUMP THAT IS NOTORIOUS FOR FALLING APART INTO THE ENGINE. IF THE DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF A CHEAP PART THAT OFTEN DISINTEGRATES INTO THE ENGINE HOW HAS THIS NOT BEEN RECALLED? I SEE MANY CASES ONLINE WHERE THIS HAS HAPPENED. DEALERSHIP I TOOK IT TO IS VANDEVERE BUICK IN AKRON OHIO. JERRY MESSENGER IS THE MANAGER THAT CAN VERIFY MY COMPLAINT. *TR

DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT IS RETAINING WATER/LIQUID. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2015, I WAS TOLD THAT MY TIRES WERE NEW; THEN 2 YEARS AGO, I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE TWO OF THEM. NOW ONE OF THE TWO ORIGINAL PIRELLI TIRES HAS PITS AND CLEARS CHUNKS MISSING FROM THE TIRE BASE, AS WELL AS MANY CRACKS THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE TIRE! LASTLY, THE CAR HAS A HABIT OF LOCKING THE DOORS ON ITS OWN AND KEEPING THEM LOCKED, THEREBY MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET IN. THE MOST RECENT TIME, I CALLED ONSTAR...AND DIDN'T EVEN SPEAK TO ANYONE, BUT THEY MIRACULOUSLY OPENED AND THE REMOTE WORKED FINE...AGAIN! VEHICLE HAS UNDER 49000 MILES ON IT! VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN SERVICED BY ARNOLD CHEVY / BUICK AND NO ONE ELSE! OH, AND JUST A COMPLAINT FROM WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE: I WAS NEVER TOLD THE CAR NEEDED PREMIUM GAS FOR BEST TURBO PERFORMANCE; I WAS TOLD THAT AFTER OWNING THE VEHICLE 3 YEARS, AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED AND I COMPLAINED OF THE ENGINE LAGGING.
