Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2015 Passat, 2015-2016 Eos, 2015-2017 CC, 2016-2017 TT Roadster, TT Coupe, 2017 Audi R8 Coupe, and R8 Spyder vehicles. Upon deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to explode.

TAKATA RECALL - DRIVER SEAT: THE PLASTIC HOUSING ON BOTH SIDES OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT, NEAR THE HEADREST, HAVE POPPED OPEN AND PULLED AWAY FROM THE SEAT. THE IS THE AREA WHERE THE SIDE AIRBAGS ARE STORED AND DEPLOY FROM DURING A COLLISION. PASSENGER SEAT: THE PLASTIC HOUSING HAS POPPED/PULLED AWAY ON THE PASSENGER SEAT, NEAR THE HEADREST. THIS IS WHERE THE SIDE AIRBAGS ARE STORED. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, PARKED IN A GARAGE OVERNIGHT. CLEAR WEATHER AND ABOUT 70-75 DEGREES THE DAY BEFORE, IN THE 50 DEGREE RANGE AT NIGHT. DISCOVERED THE ANOMALY WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE THE NEXT MORNING WHEN GETTING INTO THE CAR (JULY 9, 2017). DISCOVERED THE ANOMALY WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE A FEW DAYS LATER (JULY 13, 2017). I HAVE CONTACTED A NEARBY AUDI DEALERSHIP.

ADAPTIVE HEADLIGHTS: ERROR POPPED UP FOR ADAPTIVE HEADLIGHTS WHEN STARTING CAR. ERROR WENT AWAY THE NEXT TIME THE CAR WAS STARTED. PREVIOUSLY HAD SOFTWARE UPDATED FOR SIDE MARKER RECALL IN DECEMBER 2016. TOOK CAR TO AUDI DEALERSHIP (JULY 13, 2017) AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A SECOND RECALL, AND PROCEEDED TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE FOR THE HEADLIGHTS. I HAVE NOT SEEN A RECALL ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM / SOFTWARE UPDATE.
