Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2014 S5 is fuel/propulsion system with 2 filings, followed by unknown or other (1) and power train (1). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability.
NHTSA currently has 9 investigation files overlapping the 2014 S5. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Steering Defective - Do Not Drive Vehicle warning on cluster. Almost impossible to turn steering wheel. Thank goodness did not happen at highway speed. Only 50k miles. YMM not one in the extended warranty that was offered by Audi with this issue. Needed $4k whole new steering rack assembly which was on its 8th revision. Other mult posts with same issue. Audi should expand their help with this issue. Dealership that fixed it was top notch.

Whenever the ambient temperature outside goes above 95F degrees or I sit in traffic for long periods of time the shuts off. Other times it stalls. There are no warning lamps that turn on to warn of impending shut off. When the car was scanned for codes My scanner shows a âlow fuel pressureâ code or âsteam bubble formationâ code.
I WAS DRIVING IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE NEAR MY HOME IN HEAVY TRAFFIC IN RUSH HOUR ON AUGUST 21, 2019, WHEN THE VEHICLE STOPPED DEAD WITH NO WARNING; THE ENGINE SIMPLY CUT OFF. IT WOULD NOT RESTART. THE CAR BEHIND MANAGED TO STOP, BUT THE SITUATION LED TO CARS PASSING ME BY DRIVING INTO THE OPPOSITE LANE IN THE FACE OF INCOMING TRAFFIC. EARLIER I HAD BEEN DRIVING ON A LOCAL HIGHWAY AT 65 MILES AN HOUR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, AND THE RESULTS COULD WELL HAVE BEEN SIGNIFICANT INJURY. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL PUMP HAD FAILED AT A LITTLE OVER 23,000 MILES. ONE MECHANIC THERE SAID THAT THIS TYPE OF FUEL PUMP IN THIS CAR WAS KNOWN TO FAIL IN THE AMERICAN SOUTHWEST DUE TO REGIONAL HIGH TEMPERATURES; I HAVE NO WAY TO VERIFY THAT. I CAN UPLOAD THE REPAIR PAPERWORK IF THAT IS HELPFUL.
