Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2023 Q5 SPORTBACK is engine with 1 filings, followed by unknown or other (1) and power train (1). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 2 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 9 investigation files overlapping the 2023 Q5 SPORTBACK. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Brand new vehicle with less than 1000 miles. Whenever I take an exit from highyway vehicle's rear wheel slips and shakes. It shakes and slips when I change lanes in a curvy highway such as Hardy Toll Road in Houston. Happened several times. I am taking it to the dealer this week to have it checked out. I suspect that a recall may be needed here!

Once the car is programmed to open/close your garage door, the car must be running in order to use this feature. This means that you must start the car BEFORE opening the garage door when you want to pull out and likewise you need to close the garage door before turning off the motor when you pull into the garage. I consider this a safety defect. The garage door should always be open before you start the car and the car should be off before you close the door.
