Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2024-2025 AUDI Q4 E-Tron SUV, AUDI Q4 E-Tron Sportback, and 2024 ID.4 vehicles. The on-board charger (OCDC) may fail and stop charging the 12-volt battery, which can result in a loss of drive power.
CRITICAL SAFETY DEFECT: HIGH-SPEED BRAKING SURGE & ELECTRICAL FAILURE Life safety concerning ! 1. Braking Failure at Highway Speeds: The vehicle exhibits a severe safety defect involving unintended acceleration/surging while braking. While driving in 'D' (Drive) mode at approximately 50 MPH, when applying the brakes to stop for traffic/red lights, the vehicle fails to decelerate immediately. Instead of slowing down, the vehicle surges forward against the braking input, feeling like a loss of regenerative braking authority. This results in extended stopping distances and near-miss collision risks at high speeds. 2.
