Within that volume, owners reported 0 crashes, 0 fires, 0 injuries, and 0 fatalities. No NCAP 5-star crash-test rating is available for this model year in the federal database.

Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2000 AUDI is unknown or other with 2 filings, followed by tires (2) and suspension:front (1). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability.

NHTSA currently has 7 investigation files overlapping the 2000 AUDI. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

1. PURCHASED A 2000 AUDI A6 2.7T. 2. THE AUTO CHECK SYSTEM IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DOES NOT WORK ESPECIALLY WHEN WARM. THE LCD RIBBON CABLE LOOSES CONTACT AND DOESN'T DISPLAY THE INFORMATION IT SHOULD. CRITICAL SAFETY INFORMATION IS NO LONGER DISPLAYED. 3. WAS QUOTED OBSCENE AMOUNTS BY AUDI DEALERS TO REPLACE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. $250 FOR A USED CLUSTER THAT WOULD NEED THE ODOMETER ADJUSTED FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE. *TR

ALTHOUGH THIS DEALER HAS HAD NO COMPLAINTS OF THIS TYPE IN 2 YEARS OF PRODUCTION, READING AUDIWORLD.COM AND SEARCHING FOR DV BRINGS UP HUNDREDS OF DISCUSSIONS

20000831TIRES

I'VE HAD ONE TIRE BUBBLE AND TWO TIRE BLOWOUTS WITH THESE TIRES! BOTH EVENTS OCCURED DURING NORMAL CITY DRIVING.( DOT NUMBER: UNKNOWN TIRE SIZE: 225/45RZ17 )

20000223SUSPENSION:FRONT

I AM REPORTING A SAFETY PROBLEM, NOT AN ACCIDENT OR A PARTS FAILURE. THE CAR CAME EQUIPPED WITH HIGH PERFORMANCE TIRES. THEY ARE BRIDGESTONE POTENZA STEEL BELTED RADIALS NO 225/45 R17. ON ANY SNOW THE CAR BECOMES UNSTABLE. IT WILL NOT CLIMB EVEN THE SLIGHTEST GRADE. STOPPING IS PROBLEMATICAL; IT SLIDES EVERY WHICH WAY. I CALLED AUDI OF NORTH AMERICA AND WAS TOLD THE CORRECTION IS TO BUY SNOW TIRES. I WAS GIVEN A NUMBER OF A DUNLOP TIRE TO FIT MY RIMS. IT IS CALLED A WINTER SPORT AND COSTS $750.00 FOR FOUR TIRES. IT IS INCONCEIVABLE TO ME THAT A CAR IS SOLD IN THE MIDWEST WITH THE ONLY METHOD OF CONTROLLING WINTER DRIVING IS TO BUY AN ADDITIONAL SET OF TIRES. I COULD UNDERSTAND SOMEONE WANTING BETTER TRACTION IN THE WINTER DOING SO, BUT NOT JUST TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR ON SLIPPERY ROADS. *AK

AUDI IS ADDING ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAM IN ADDITION TO THE ITEMS PROVIDED IN THE VOLUNTARY RECALL COMMENCING WEEK 18 FOR TT MODELS BUT WILL NOT ADDRESS SAME IN VEHICLES PRODUCED PRIOR TO THAT TIME IN SAME MODEL YEAR. CREATES AN UNFAIR SAFETY ADVANTAGE FOR THOSE VEHICLES PRODUCED AFTER THAT TIME AND MAY ALSO AFFECT INSURANCE RATES, RESALE VALUE, SAFETY ISSUES REAL OR PERCEIVED. NO SAFETY ISSUE MENTIONED IN SUMMARY. *AK
