Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain model year 2007-2009 Audi A8 and S8 vehicles. The sunroof glass on the affected vehicles may not be properly secured to the sunroof frame. As a result, the sunroof glass may detach from the car while driving.
The contact owns a 2007 Audi A8. The contact stated that the sunroof glass was loosened. The contact was concerned that the sunroof glass had detached from the sunroof frame. The dealer was made aware of the failure and determined that the sunroof glass needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V415000 (Visibility) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

The sunroof of my car exlpoded while driving on the freeway while on my commute to work yesterday morning. Nobody was hurt and luckily my sliding cover was covering the glass at the time.
WITH WIFE DRIVING AND FOUR YOUNG CHILDREN IN CAR, GAS PEDAL BECAME STUCK IN FULL ACCELERATION. PEDAL HAD TO BE PULLED UP BY HAND WHILE MASHING BRAKES IN ORDER TO AVOID CRASH.
