I am writing to report a serious and life-threatening safety incident involving my Audi vehicle following recent service performed by an authorized Audi dealer. Vehicle information: Model: Audi (2015) VIN: [XXX] Servicing Dealer: Audi Lafayette IN Date of Service: 2026-01-14 A few days after the service appointment, my wife was driving the vehicle from Lafayette, Indiana to Chicago on the highway at normal speed when the vehicle suddenly became unstable and difficult to control. The car experienced violent shaking and loss of directional control, creating an immediate risk of a high-speed accident. Fortunately, she was able to safely bring the vehicle to a stop on the highway shoulder. The vehicle was then towed back to the same dealership. Preliminary inspection strongly suggests a wheel / tire installation failure, which occurred less than a week after dealer service. The contact proceeded to park on the side of the road and walk to her residence to pick up coolant to refill the coolant tank. The vehicle was then taken to the independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the coolant tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 79,000.

P2067 engine check code which shows faulty fuel sensor. Audi has recalled other year Audi a6 sedan vehicles with the same issue and this seems to be a safety issue as it can show incorrect fuel gauge and in the event of car out of fuel, engine can stall and can cause accident.

The car will randomly die without notice and then will not start. There's an EC fault but no other identifiers and the car won't start for quite some time. After sitting for a couple hours or more it will finally start. It happens at a minimum of 1-2 times per month.

WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THERE WAS A FLASH FLOOD ON A KNOWN FLOOD ROAD. AFTER PROCEEDING THROUGH WHAT WAS MAYBE 6"-12" OF WATER, VEHICLE'S AMBER STEERING DEFECTIVE WARNING LIGHT APPEARED WITH THE NOTIFICATION STATING THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THE NEXT DAY WHILE DRIVING, THE AMBER STEERING DEFECTIVE LIGHT TURNED RED WITH A NOTIFICATION STATING NOT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. UPON THIS HAPPENING, THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER STEERING, TPMS FAULT, STABILIZATION FAULT, AND ACC BRAKING GUARD FAULT APPEARED. THANKFULLY, I WAS NOT DRIVING TO WORK THAT MORNING AND WAS GOING LESS THAN 30MPH RATHER THAN 70MPH. AUDI SERVICE ADVISOR STATES THAT THERE ISN'T A WAY THAT THIS WAS CAUSED DUE TO WATER DAMAGE. I DISAGREE. I BELIEVE WATER ENTERED THE STEERING MODULE (EVEN THOUGH THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A SEALED UNIT) AND CAUSED AN ELECTRICAL SHORT TO THE MODULE. OWNER WAS INFORMED THAT AN ADDITIONAL SAFETY RECALL (19O2) WILL REPLACE THE COOLANT PUMP WITH A NEW ONE. ON 04 MARCH 2019, WE CALLED AUDI USA AND WERE TOLD THAT THE REPLACEMENT WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE COOLANT PUMP ALSO AIDS IN PROVIDING ADDITIONAL CABIN HEAT WHICH IS IMPORTANT DURING THE WINTER MONTHS FOR THE COMFORT AND SAFETY OF OCCUPANTS IN THE VEHICLE. DUE TO THE PUMP BEING DISCONNECTED, THE CABIN HAS BEEN VERY SLOW TO WARN, INCLUDING THE WINDOW DEFROSTERS. THIS PRESENTS AN EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. IT ALSO PRESENTS A POSSIBLE DAMAGE ISSUE SINCE THE AFTER COOLANT PUMP IS USED TO ALLEVIATE HEAT FROM THE TURBOCHARGER. AUDI USA STATED ON 04 MARCH 2019 THAT THE NEW COOLANT PUMPS WILL BE AVAILABLE SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE.
