AS I WAS OPENING THE HOOD OF THE CAR TO FILL UP THE WINDOW WASHER, THE HOOD DID NOT STAY UP AS USUAL. IT STARTED TO CLOSE AND IT HIT MY HEAD ON THE WAY DOWN. I AM WONDERING IF THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER REPORTS OF THE SAME INCIDENT. LUCKILY, I SUFFERED ONLY MINOR DAMAGE TO MY HEAD, HOWEVER I HAVE ON GOING HEADACHES AS A RESULT. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 AUDI A4. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT SMOKE HAD BEGUN TO COME FROM UNDERNEATH THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT. NO FLAMES WERE VISIBLE AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT CALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE ENTIRE WIRING SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 104000.

THE DRIVER SEAT CURTAIN SIDE AIRBAG WENT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ON SATURDAY OF THANKSGIVING WEEKEND 11/25/06. NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED. *NM
ON 9/28/04 I WAS INVOLVED IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT WHERE ANOTHER DRIVER IN A SUBURBAN FAILED TO YIELD THE RIGHT AWAY, TURNED IN FRONT OF ME, I HIT HER WITH MY 1998 AUDI AVANT WAGON. THE COMBINED SPEEDS OF THE TWO VEHICLES COMBINED WITH WHERE I HIT THE SUBURBAN, FLIPPED THE SUBURBAN. THIS DRIVER WAS TRAPPED IN HER VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS INVOLVED IN LIFTING HER VEHICLE OFF OF HER ARM. SHE SUBSEQUENTLY RECEIVED HUNDREDS OF STITCHES IN HER ARM. IN CONTRAST, I SHATTERED MY RIGHT WRIST SCAPHOID

WHILE IN ROUTE TO HAVE RECALL REPAIR ON THE BRAKE BOOSTER BY PASS, THE BRAKES LOCKED UP AND THE CONSUMER SLID INTO A DITCH, DAMAGING VEHICLE. *NLM
THE CAR IS A 5 SPEED. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IS BELOW THE CENTER ARM REST WHICH CAN BE ADJUSTED TO DIFFERENT HEIGHTS. WHEN THE ARM REST IS IN A LOWER SETTING, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE CANNOT BE PULLED UP HIGH ENOUGH TO KEEP THE CAR FROM MOVING. AFTER PARKING THE CAR, WHEN THE BRAKES COOLED, THE CAR ROLLED INTO ANOTHER PARKED CAR.
THE HEADLIGHTS DO NOT PROVIDE SUFFICIENT ILLUMINATION ON LOW OR HIGH BEAM. DRIVER WAS NOT ABLE TO AVOID HITTING A HERD OF ELK BECAUSE OF THE LIGHTING. THE DEALER IS NOT ABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
WHILE BACKING INTO A DRIVEWAY THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WHILE BRAKES WERE CONTINUOUSLY BEING APPLIED BUT DID NOT RESPOND, RESULTING IN VEHICLE HITTING A TRUCK. CAUSE UNKNOWN. *AK
I WAS BACKING UP IN DRIVEWAY IN FRONT OF ANOTHER VEHICLE WHICH WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF A HOUSE. MY CAR GAVE A SLIGHT LURCH AND THE MOTOR REVVED UP. I IMMEDIATELY LOOKED BECAUSE I THOUGHT I MUST HAVE MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE. HOWEVER, THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED BACKWARD INTO THE TRUCK, DRIVING IT 15 FEET INTO THE PORCH STEPS. THE PICKUP TRUCK WAS TOTALLED AND THE STEPS COMPLETELY DEMOLISHED.
