Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2008 V8 VANTAGE is structure:body with 1 filings, followed by exterior lighting (1) and suspension (1). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 3 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
No open NHTSA investigation overlaps the 2008 V8 VANTAGE in the current dataset. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. It appears that my car started itself, went into gear and drove into my garage. At 9:00 PM om Thursday my dog was barking and growling, I suspected someone was outside. I went to investigate and saw my car running and lodged against my garage and garage door. It would stop and start again and try to move forward but it was stuck against the wall and door. The car moved approximately 6 feet from where it was parked. This is a very dangerous condition. If a child was in front of the car they would be dead or very seriously injured. I have reported this to Aston Martin but have yet to receive and information.
