Dorman Products, Inc. (Dorman) is recalling certain Accelerator Pedal Assemblies part numbers 699-114 and 825-5029-1, sold as replacement parts for 2003-2006 Acura MDX, 2004-2008 Acura TL and TSX, 2003-2007 Honda Accord, 2005-2006 Honda CR-V, 2007-2011 Honda Element, 2005-2008 Honda Pilot and 2006-
The power steering is leaking constantly as soon as u pour it in the car drive it 2 miles all leaks out and have to refill in order for the power steering to work correctly and there is a recall for it on this vehicle.
Power steering rack & pinion always leaks on these vehicles. It is possible to lose all pressure in system and for vehicle to lose control while on the road. Acura is aware of the issue on 04-08 TSX models but refuses to issue a recall. On my personal vehicle, the driver's side seal is leaking.
THE CAR IS ABOUT TO NEED THE STEERING RACK REPLACED FOR THE 3RD TIME SINCE AUGUST OF 2021. THE POWER STEERING FLUID GETS LOW AND NEEDS TO BE REFILLED EVERY FEW MONTHS. STEERING RACK EVENTUALLY SPRINGS LEAK EVERY SINGLE TIME. ALREADY HAD HOSE REPLACED FROM RECALL.
Every day I. The morning, the car would not start even though the battery is new and the car is driven everyday and mechanics can not find the problem and it passes all tests when checked for problems.

Paint has pealed away, exposing the metal on the body which is starting to rust. The major areas are on top of hood, roof and top of trunk.
The contact owns a 2006 Acura TSX. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle loss motive power and stalled without warning. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer nor an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was relating the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 13V093000 (Engine and Engine Cooling, Electrical system). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and confirmed that the Vin was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 128,241.

THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE CONTACT AND WHILE DRIVING, THE STEERING WAS DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY. THE RESERVOIR WAS REFILLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RACK AND PINION WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MCDANIELS ACURA OF CHARLESTON (2283 SAVANNAH HWY, CHARLESTON, SC 29414, 843-766-1299, WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WHEN APPLYING FIRM PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES, IT RESPONDS WITH A SERIES OF RAPID VIBRATIONS AND CONCOMITANT CLICKING NOISE. I NEVER FEEL A SOLID AND RESPONSIVE BREAKING SYSTEM. THIS OCCURRED WHEN I WAS ATTEMPTING TO SLOW IN ICE ON A SIDE STREET IN 06 AT WHICH TIME I CALLED ACURA TO COMPLAIN. A FEW DAYS AGO, I ATTEMPTED TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WHILE I WAS ROLLING AFTER RELEASING MY BREAK FROM A FULL STOP, SO NOT EVEN ANY MPG'S. THIS WAS ON A SIDE STREET, AND I DON'T REMEMBER THE EXACT DATE. IT WAS PROBABLY IN SEPTEMBER 2019. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO DAMAGE, BUT I WORRY THAT MY BRAKES WILL NEVER BE THERE WHEN I NEED THEM.

POWER STEERING PUMP FAILURE APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS AGO, REPLACED. SHORTLY AFTER, ALTERNATOR FAILED AND I WAS TOLD THIS WAS BECAUSE OF BEING SATURATED WITH THE FLUID FROM PREVIOUS FAILURE. NOW THIS... WIFE WAS DRIVING CAR HOME WITH MY 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. SUDDENLY THE CAR BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD 'WOBBLE.' THIS WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION BUT MY WIFE MADE IT HOME SLOWLY. I IMMEDIATELY CHECKED POWER STEERING FLUID AND RESERVOIR AND IT WAS LOW. FILLED IT UP WITH LEFTOVER HONDA FLUID AND LEAKED IMMEDIATELY FROM THE DRIVER RUBBER BOOT NEAR RACK AND PINION. RACK AND PINION NOW NEEDS REPLACEMENT FROM A MASSIVE LEAK. THIS IS BECOMING A COMMON OCCURRENCE AND PLACING MANY IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHILE DRIVING.

RE 2006 ACURA - LETTER FROM CONSTITUENT REQUESTING ASSISTANCE IN FILING A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST THE PARTIES INVOLVED IN THE MATTER. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS FRAUDULENTLY SOLD. THE VEHICLE APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT THAT WAS REPORTED, THE BRAKES WOULD SQUEAK, AND THE CODES WERE CLEARED BEFORE BEING SOLD. *JS
I RECENTLY EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE POWER STEERING RACK DUE TO A MAJOR LEAK OF FLUID TO THE POINT I COULDN'T MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. THANK GOD IT HAPPENED RIGHT AFTER I GOT HOME FROM DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. JUST WHEN I PULLED TO PARK IN THE DRIVEWAY AND FOUND OUT THE FLUID IN THE RESERVOIR WAS COMPLETELY DRAINED AND EMPTY. I ADDED NEW POWER STEERING FLUID AND WITHIN AN HOUR IT LEAKED ALL OUT. TOOK IT TO AN INDEPENDENT SHOP A FEW DAYS LATER DUE TO THE HOLIDAYS AND FOUND OUT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE BREAKDOWN OF THE SEAL ON BOTH SIDES. A WEEK BEFORE THIS HAPPENED, I TOOK MY CAR ON A 1200 MILES ROAD TRIP. I CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKY THAT IT DIDN'T BREAK DOWN WHILE I'M DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AS THE RESULT COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. CONTACTED ACURA CLIENT SERVICE MANAGER AND I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED FOR THE POWER STEERING BUT IT WAS FOR A DIFFERENT PART, A HOSE, AND THAT MY REQUEST FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR A DIFFERENT PART WOULD NOT BE COVERED.
