THIS RECALL QUERY INVESTIGATION WAS OPENED ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2000 BASED ON 26 REPORTS OF INADVERTENT HANDLE UNLATCHING ON SEATS MANUFACTURED BEYOND THE SCOPE OF RECALL 99E-022. RECALL 99E-022 IS THE ORIGINAL RECALL ON ARRIVA AND TURNABOUT INFANT SEATS FOR UNEXPECTED CARRY HANDLE UNLATCHING. COSCO, NOW KNOWN AS THE DOREL JUVENILE GROUP (DJG), CONDUCTED RECALL 99E-022 ON ARRIVA AND TURNABOUT SEATS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN MARCH 1, 1995 AND SEPTEMBER 9, 1997. AT THAT TIME, THERE WERE 151 REPORTS INVOLVING 29 INJURIES. AS A RESULT OF THIS INVESTIGATION AND INQUIRES FROM THE CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION (CPSC) THE DJG HAS AGREED TO CONDUCT ANOTHER RECALL ON APPROXIMATELY 1.2 MILLION ADDITIONAL SEATS. THE SCOPE OF THIS RECALL IS ALL ARRIVA AND TURNABOUT SEATS MANUFACTURED FROM SEPTEMBER 10, 1997 THROUGH JANUARY 31, 2000. AS IN THE ORIGINAL RECALL, THE MANUFACTURER WILL PROVIDE A FREE HANDLE LATCH REMEDY KIT. THE ODI RECALL NUMBER IS 03C004000.
