Open-data reference.
NHTSA Complaint about FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:DELIVERY filed January 25, 2006
NHTSA complaint #570340 (ODI reference 10148523) concerns a 1994 CHEVROLET S SERIES and was filed on January 25, 2006. The owner reports the failure occurred on January 1, 2006. The report was geocoded to Tennessee based on the filer's self-reported location. The affected component is categorized as fuel system, other:delivery, one of NHTSA's standardized taxonomy codes used to group defect patterns across make, model, and year.
The filer flagged the following severity indicators: crash: no, fire: no, injuries: 0, fatalities: 0. No crash, fire, or fatality was associated with this report, which places it in the early-warning stream rather than the priority-review stream. Because a VIN was supplied, this complaint is tied to a specific vehicle and not just a model-year cohort.
Individual complaints are consumer-submitted and unverified by NHTSA engineers — the agency's role at this stage is to collect, index, and make them searchable. What matters for federal action is the pattern: when many owners of the same CHEVROLET S SERIES cohort independently describe similar fuel system, other:delivery failures, defect investigators have grounds to open a PE and request manufacturer data. Related filings for the same vehicle and component appear below, and the detail page for the full 1994 CHEVROLET S SERIES shows the complete component-level complaint distribution alongside any active investigations or recalls.
Complaint Description
MY TRUCK FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW HAS HAD AN IDLE LOPE AND MISS WHICH I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO CORRECT. I HAVE CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS AND SPARK PLUG WIRES SEVERAL TIMES. I HAVE REPLACED THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR AND THE MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR. ALSO ,REPLACED THE FUEL INJECTOR, FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR, AND ALL ASSOCIATED HARDWARE THAT IS TO BE REPLACED AS A UNIT ON THAT MODEL OF VEHICLE. THE EGR SYSTEM HAS BEEN REPLACED UNDER RECALL. UP TO THIS POINT THERE HAVE BEEN NO SERIOUS STARTING PROBLEMS. THE ONLY INDICATION OF A PROBLEM HAS BEEN THAT THE ENGINE CHECK INDICATOR WOULD BRIEFLY LIGHT UP UNDER SUDDEN DECELERATION. THE ENGINE CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT HAS NEVER BEEN LIT TO MY KNOWLEDGE, NOR HAVE I BEEN ABLE TO RECOVER A CPU FAULT CODE USING PUBLISHED PROCEDURES. THAT IS PART OF WHAT HAS BEEN SO MADDENING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM--VEHICLE DIAGNOSTICS ARE NOT DETECTING A PROBLEM, SO I BECAME FRUSTRATED WITH REPLACING PARTS THAT WERE NOT DEFECTIVE. I HAVE HAD THIS TRUCK TO 3 GM AUTHORIZE
