2025 INFINITI QX80 — Complaint #2177567
Open-data reference.
NHTSA Complaint about STRUCTURE:BODY filed February 17, 2026
NHTSA complaint #2177567 (ODI reference 11718472) concerns a 2025 INFINITI QX80 and was filed on February 17, 2026. The owner reports the failure occurred on June 20, 2025. The report was geocoded to New Jersey based on the filer's self-reported location. The affected component is categorized as structure:body, one of NHTSA's standardized taxonomy codes used to group defect patterns across make, model, and year.
The filer flagged the following severity indicators: crash: no, fire: no, injuries: 0, fatalities: 0. No crash, fire, or fatality was associated with this report, which places it in the early-warning stream rather than the priority-review stream. Because a VIN was supplied, this complaint is tied to a specific vehicle and not just a model-year cohort.
Individual complaints are consumer-submitted and unverified by NHTSA engineers — the agency's role at this stage is to collect, index, and make them searchable. What matters for federal action is the pattern: when many owners of the same INFINITI QX80 cohort independently describe similar structure:body failures, defect investigators have grounds to open a PE and request manufacturer data. Related filings for the same vehicle and component appear below, and the detail page for the full 2025 INFINITI QX80 shows the complete component-level complaint distribution alongside any active investigations or recalls.
Complaint Description
While driving my Infiniti QX80, 2025 model, the driver's side mirror is constantly shaking and vibrating, especially on uneven roads or at speeds over 40â50 mph. The vibration blurs the mirror, making it impossible to see clearly and posing a safety risk. I brought this to the dealer, but they could not resolve the issue. They replaced the mirror, yet it did not help and actually made the vibration worse. Now they claim this is "normal" and that nothing can be done. However, the vibration is constant and unacceptable for safe driving. I request further investigation and resolution.
