Open-data reference.

NHTSA Complaint about VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL filed October 2, 2025

NHTSA complaint #2135729 (ODI reference 11690915) concerns a 2025 HYUNDAI PALISADE and was filed on October 2, 2025. The owner reports the failure occurred on September 8, 2025. The report was geocoded to West Virginia based on the filer's self-reported location. The affected component is categorized as vehicle speed control, one of NHTSA's standardized taxonomy codes used to group defect patterns across make, model, and year.

The filer flagged the following severity indicators: crash: no, fire: no, injuries: 0, fatalities: 0. No crash, fire, or fatality was associated with this report, which places it in the early-warning stream rather than the priority-review stream. Because a VIN was supplied, this complaint is tied to a specific vehicle and not just a model-year cohort.

Individual complaints are consumer-submitted and unverified by NHTSA engineers — the agency's role at this stage is to collect, index, and make them searchable. What matters for federal action is the pattern: when many owners of the same HYUNDAI PALISADE cohort independently describe similar vehicle speed control failures, defect investigators have grounds to open a PE and request manufacturer data. Complaint Description

ABS kicks in with even the slightest bump. Had an incident a couple weeks ago where I went over a bump while leaving a store and the car almost did not stop before hitting oncoming traffic. Have had issues for 10 months with the car not accelerating properly or shifting properly. Have tried to drive in every mode (smart, sport, comfort) and nothing makes it better. I have had the vehicle to the shop 3 times. First 2 times said no problem. The third time stated my rear seal is leaking and transmission is leaking as well as 4x4 coupler needs replaced. I feel unsafe to drive in this vehicle with me and my children.
