NHTSA Complaint about UNKNOWN OR OTHER filed September 10, 2025

NHTSA complaint #2128931 (ODI reference 11686321) concerns a 2022 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE L and was filed on September 10, 2025. The owner reports the failure occurred on August 13, 2025. The report was geocoded to Utah based on the filer's self-reported location. The affected component is categorized as unknown or other, one of NHTSA's standardized taxonomy codes used to group defect patterns across make, model, and year.

The filer flagged the following severity indicators: crash: no, fire: no, injuries: 0, fatalities: 0. No crash, fire, or fatality was associated with this report, which places it in the early-warning stream rather than the priority-review stream. Because a VIN was supplied, this complaint is tied to a specific vehicle and not just a model-year cohort.

Individual complaints are consumer-submitted and unverified by NHTSA engineers — the agency's role at this stage is to collect, index, and make them searchable. What matters for federal action is the pattern: when many owners of the same JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE L cohort independently describe similar unknown or other failures, defect investigators have grounds to open a PE and request manufacturer data. Complaint Description

There is an issue with the sensors. While driving for no reason it will break. It’s done it multiple times. While turning left. The sensors have stopped me in front of oncoming traffic. And won’t allow me to proceed forward. There is also an issue while trying to back out of parking spots. There will be nothing behind me. But it will break and not allow me to leave. This is very concerning. I am afraid to drive my vehicle. I’ve taken it into the dealership and they weren’t able to fix it.
