Complaint Description
The contact's husband owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the horn initially failed to operate as needed. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V459000 (Air Bags), which was linked to the horn failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair. Recently, the horn failure returned, along with select steering wheel options that also failed to operate as needed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective wiring harness and clock spring, and the contact was given an estimate for the repair. The contact then received a notice from the manufacturer about a lifetime warranty on the vehicle under the D-17 clock spring lifetime warranty. The contact called the dealer and informed them about the warranty notice. The dealer stated that there were no recalls on the vehicle and refused to honor the warranty. The vehicle was not repaired.
