Open-data reference.
NHTSA Complaint about SUSPENSION:SUBFRAME/MOUNTING BRACKET filed August 12, 2025
NHTSA complaint #2119785 (ODI reference 11680126) concerns a 2024 HYUNDAI PALISADE and was filed on August 12, 2025. The owner reports the failure occurred on February 15, 2025. The vehicle had 30,000 miles on the odometer at the time of the incident. The report was geocoded to Texas based on the filer's self-reported location. The affected component is categorized as suspension:subframe/mounting bracket, one of NHTSA's standardized taxonomy codes used to group defect patterns across make, model, and year.
The filer flagged the following severity indicators: crash: no, fire: no, injuries: 0, fatalities: 0. No crash, fire, or fatality was associated with this report, which places it in the early-warning stream rather than the priority-review stream. Because a VIN was supplied, this complaint is tied to a specific vehicle and not just a model-year cohort.
Individual complaints are consumer-submitted and unverified by NHTSA engineers — the agency's role at this stage is to collect, index, and make them searchable. What matters for federal action is the pattern: when many owners of the same HYUNDAI PALISADE cohort independently describe similar suspension:subframe/mounting bracket failures, defect investigators have grounds to open a PE and request manufacturer data. Complaint Description
The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at a slower speed than 60 MPH or attempting to make a left or right turn, there was an abnormal tapping sound coming from the driverâs side rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and it was diagnosed that the driverâs side rear suspension bracket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, while driving, the tapping sound returned, and the vehicle was driven back to the dealer. The dealer replaced another suspension bracket on the same driverâs side rear; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
