No crash, fire, or fatality was associated with this report, which places it in the early-warning stream rather than the priority-review stream. Because a VIN was supplied, this complaint is tied to a specific vehicle and not just a model-year cohort.
Individual complaints are consumer-submitted and unverified by NHTSA engineers — the agency's role at this stage is to collect, index, and make them searchable. What matters for federal action is the pattern: when many owners of the same LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER VELAR cohort independently describe similar exterior lighting:headlights:daytime running lights:bulbs failures, defect investigators have grounds to open a PE and request manufacturer data. Complaint Description
The contact owns a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the daytime running lights needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact attempted to have the daytime running lights replaced by a body shop with a used part but decided that new daytime running lights would be best.
