Complaint Description
The contact owns a 2020 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact noticed a loud noise that sounded as if the vehicle muffler was missing. The contact became aware of a slight noise previously; however, the sound became louder and more persistent. The contact reported the failure to the dealer. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a detached flex pipe due to corrosion. The contact was informed that the flex pipe needed to be replaced. In addition, the contact was informed that the parts to complete the repair were unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 32,000.
