Complaint Description
The contact owns a 2016 Acura TLX. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned on the hazard lights. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drove to the residence. An independent mechanic had diagnosed the vehicle at the residence and informed the contact that the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V060000 (Fuel System, Other); however, the VIN was not included. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.
