The filer flagged the following severity indicators: crash: no, fire: no, injuries: 0, fatalities: 0. No crash, fire, or fatality was associated with this report, which places it in the early-warning stream rather than the priority-review stream. Because a VIN was supplied, this complaint is tied to a specific vehicle and not just a model-year cohort.

Individual complaints are consumer-submitted and unverified by NHTSA engineers — the agency's role at this stage is to collect, index, and make them searchable. What matters for federal action is the pattern: when many owners of the same FORD BRONCO SPORT cohort independently describe similar equipment:appliance:tv/radio/speakers failures, defect investigators have grounds to open a PE and request manufacturer data. Complaint Description

On more than one occasion, the speakers have emitted an ear piercing startling noise while driving. The first time it happened, i was driving and I could not get the noise to stop despite turning off the radio. My ears ached for days. It had been only a couple days since I purchase the vehicle. I took it to Ford’s service department. It stayed there for a few days only to be told they cannot find any issue with the car or software The second and 3rd time it happened, the radio was not on but my phone was connected through the USB port. The duration of the screeching was shorter but still disturbing enough to leave me shaking. Both the volume on the car radio and the volume on my phone were set to a very low setting. Screeching noise emitted was loudly deafening and a safety hazard.
