Complaint Description

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Trax. The contact stated that the infotainment screen displayed a blank image while in operation. Due to the failure, the contact the speedometer and other safety features were inoperable while operating the vehicle. The contact also stated that the interior lights flickered on and off while driving. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where a diagnostic test was performed, and the contact was informed that an unknown part on the instrument panel needed to be replaced. The contact was made aware of an unknown recall for similar vehicles; however, the vehicle was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided the contact with similar information. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 51,411.
