Complaint Description

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled and began to lose motive power. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road and the vehicle restarted however, the gear shifter failed to move out of park(P). The contact stated that the vehicle shut off with the “Transmission Malfunction -Service” warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed as a failure with the clutch which needed to be replaced. The dealer stated no failure was found with the transmission, but the contact is concerned the failure is with the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000. The VIN was not available.
