NHTSA Complaint about SUSPENSION:FRONT filed January 31, 2023

NHTSA complaint #1869655 (ODI reference 11504654) concerns a 2014 FORD F-250 and was filed on January 31, 2023. The owner reports the failure occurred on November 24, 2022. The report was geocoded to Georgia based on the filer's self-reported location. The affected component is categorized as suspension:front, one of NHTSA's standardized taxonomy codes used to group defect patterns across make, model, and year.

The filer flagged the following severity indicators: crash: no, fire: no, injuries: 0, fatalities: 0. No crash, fire, or fatality was associated with this report, which places it in the early-warning stream rather than the priority-review stream. Because a VIN was supplied, this complaint is tied to a specific vehicle and not just a model-year cohort.

Individual complaints are consumer-submitted and unverified by NHTSA engineers — the agency's role at this stage is to collect, index, and make them searchable. What matters for federal action is the pattern: when many owners of the same FORD F-250 cohort independently describe similar suspension:front failures, defect investigators have grounds to open a PE and request manufacturer data. After the third, I called my local Ford dealership and informed them. They scheduled a time and I was to bring it there. The day before I was supposed to bring it, it did it again. The first time it happened, I was driving 70mph on a 65mph highway, going over a bridge when the truck started to shake profusely causing the steering wheel to jerk left and right. Luckily, there was no traffic at this time and I stopped without harm to any individual. I chalked it up to a scary incident and went about my business. Second time I was going over a bumpy road at 55mph when again, the truck began to violently shake and bounce out of control until I could get it to stop in the ditch on t
