Complaint Description
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the liftgate of the vehicle would inadvertently close on its own while loading or unloading the truck. The contact stated that the liftgate had closed on her back persistently on one occasion. The contact stated that she immediately reached out to the liftgate manual button and the liftgate elevated. There was no further information provided. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who informed the contact that they could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was then taken to a second dealer, Folsom Lake Ford (12755 Folsom Blvd, Folsom, CA 95630), who informed the contact that they could not duplicate the failure. The dealer also advised the contact that they could not make the liftgate only operable through the manual button as all the electrical wires systems of the liftgate were connected.
