Complaint Description

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle started to stall and shake with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the canister purge valve was stuck in the open position and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed of an unknown recall however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 102,000.
