TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V567000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXHIBITING THE SAME FAILURES AS LISTED IN THE RECALL, BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE KEY WAS TURNED TO THE "OFF" POSITION, THE ENGINE WOULD TURN OFF; HOWEVER, ALL THE ACCESSORIES WOULD STILL BE RUNNING AND THE KEY WOULD NOT EJECT FROM THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.
